Abstract
In a development and technology dependent world, digitalization plays a major role in our everyday life, so the significance of Web UI frameworks has become more and more important. A general concept is to simplify computer-based applications and especially the use of internet websites. This is where Web UI frameworks come into notice. These make web design easier with design elements and tools. Because the choice is so huge, choosing the right web UI framework is a big challenge and the question is which fits best in a given scenario.
The aim of this thesis is to give an overview of the currently existing Web UI frameworks and to support the decision-making process in the selection of a specific framework. First, state of the art Web UI frameworks are collected and listed. These frameworks are then compared against previously defined easy-to-evaluate criteria and reduced to four Web UI frameworks. The latter frameworks are then evaluated using a decision-making method, based on the considered scenario. The results of these thesis indicate that it is generally not possible to determine the most appropriate framework. The main reason for this is that the individual frameworks have different functions and work differently depending on the application. This work can be used as a guide to decide which framework suits best in a given scenario.
