Abstract

The diploma thesis at hand deals with the construction of a part of simulation software for a new military air freighter. In the dialog with a user it will create data for varying test configurations with which the simulator will be fed. These tests in a simulator are important for the achieving of flight safety. The software is to be placed between components like Radar Warner and Missile Warner all of which are to be tested at ground themselves. The generated data will be used by the simulator for the analysis of the necessary flight path and flight maneuver as well as the flight heights. Along this assignment the thesis handles different categories of work. In the field of
preparatory work it will analyze the methods of work as well as guidelines and constraints in the customer’s environment and of course fundamental sections of the surrounding components and tasks. It will show in which context the software will have to be integrated and which tasks it has to perform. The functioning of the software will be subject to multilayer scrutiny concerning usability aspects. The implementation starts with the analysis of general, functional and technical specifications. It will describe the system architecture and the tools in use. The proceeding will follow the so-called V-model (process model) requested from the customer’s side. It demands predefined paths for work which is necessary in constructing software. After the preliminary design the work flow for creating test data for the flight simulation
will be determined in the part of the detailed concepts. On basis of the requirements’ analysis the thesis will show the compiling of the data model and subsequently the design
of the software functions. The data model is done in Oracle 10g. Tables and views are designed. The tool Visual Studio 2005 is used to build the user interface. The GUI-elements itself where created in QT4. The design of the software functions will comply with usability aspects and will try to eliminate beforehand and to the maximum extent all possible application errors of a user. Also in this chapter the functions to be completed are subject to tests. Likewise the functions executed on the data base are tested.
Regrettably, the integration of the software module into the overall context will take place according to the schedule of the firm only in December of this year. It can therefore not be documented in this thesis. This software module represents a new possibility to create necessary test data. The created test data will be used in the simulation of the A400M air freighter.
