Abstract

Today, enterprises have to face a growing amount of information and process complexity. Their business processes can be bloated and inflexible. The user-adequate intelligent process information portals (niPRO) project enables the combination of business processes with related process information. It selects, combines, and filters this information for knowledge workers and decision makers according to their work context, so the high amount of
information is processed for the benefit of the user. This is achieved by niPRO’s semantic technology. However, for displaying business processes, common process notations are not sufficient to visualise these technologies, as semantic aspects are neglected in those notations so far. Our work develops concepts, taking into account the visualisation
of business processes and related process information. We create four visualisation concepts, each is presented with its idea, elaboration, evaluation, and a summary. The work
closes with a discussion of these concepts and an additional presentation of an interactive mockup.
