Abstract
In today's society, the amount of data is constantly increasing. One particular type of data is a time series, a sequence of data points recorded over a certain time interval. Time series appear in various cases, e.g. in the context of the Internet of Things, where sensor data, geographic positioning in transportation or system- and monitoring logs can be seen as time series. For the visualization of time series, new technologies can be used for a better and more intuitive analysis. A new kind of visualization technology are Head-Mounted Displays (HMD) such as the Microsoft HoloLens. This technology has a massive potential in the research field of Immersive Analytics.
In this thesis, a prototype of a time series application for the HoloLens was developed. Thereby, the research fields of Mixed Reality (MR), Immersive Analytics and Big Data are introduced. Potential use cases of this approach, as well as the application's requirements, are describen. In addition, the evolved prototype and its implementation is presented and finally evaluated.
